My Introduction to “It is What it Is” On the 13th of August this year I turned 50. I celebrated my 50th birthday exactly where I’d wished to do so, at Thornybush Game Lodge in my beloved Thornybush Private Game Reserve. In the weeks and months leading up to this milestone birthday of mine, I’d been frantically at work writing content for my upcoming book, The Queen Particle. During all the activity I’d written down a number of the major lessons I’d learned from age 5, which was the age from when I am able to have my first really clear memories. Upon realising how significant these lessons were and how I’d learned them, I decided to write them in…
It is what it is. Learn from it whatever it is you are supposed to learn, and then let it go!
In this 25 article series, I tell my life’s story, almost all of it, from age 5 through to my current age of 50 – I tell of The Good The Bad and The Ugly, because it is what it is.
To whomever I refer to in these writings (no names are ever mentioned other than my half-brother Douglas – may his soul rest in peace – he never had a voice and I feel he deserved one) please know and understand this – I do so as you’re part of the content rich story which went down around the movie of my life to-date, a movie whose content used to run through my head like a nasty horror-story until finally, it all made sense when I eventually understood how to place my experiences within a context.
No matter what went down between us, the good the bad and the ugly, I am eternal grateful to every one of you for the lessons as everything I’ve learned with and through you have helped transform me in to who I now am, and what matters now is that not only do I like myself, I am able to finally love myself. It is what it is.
“Why on earth do this to yourself?” you might be asking. The answer is a simple one – it’s time, it’s time for me to tell my story and to do so in a way that, should you relate to and resonate with what I experienced during my life, and if those memories still hurt you, then it’s time for you to let them go and to heal yourself.
That’s why at the end of each piece of my story, I provide you with what my life lesson was, as well as a transformational exercise which if done correctly will help you turn your pain in to gain, your sadness in to awareness and what you might be consciously ignoring (i.e. ignorance) in to newfound knowing (i.e. knowledge). Whenever we experience something we don’t want it’s because we didn’t have the knowledge, we were of ignorant of, how to turn the circumstances or events in play, from adversity in to opportunity.
This must be one of the bravest things I have ever done and as I begin to publish the 25 articles which make up The Good The Bad and The Ugly page of this Queen Particle website, a site which is dedicated to being of service to female breadwinners around the world, I do so with great elation as this is my way of serving you, the reader; my way too of shifting beyond fear, shame, guilt and being poor of spirit, to love, service, success and being rich of spirit.
It’s also my way of honouring what Jack Canfield (Chicken Soup for the Soul series) revealed to me during one his teachings when he said that there are very few people out there who haven’t had rough lives and many miserable, unwanted experiences, and given this, “So what?” Jack powerfully and unashamedly reminds us that just as we have had our dramas, so too have billions of other people, hence, “So, what? What now? Have you used all the dramas in your life to learn, grow and change, and to then help others? Or, are you still the tortured victim of your history?”
To your great success and may my most colourful journey bring you many wonderful and powerful revelations and A-HA moments about love, peace, happiness, wealth, health, prosperity, gratitude, joy, abundance, spirituality, thought, actions, results, consciousness and most importantly about you and all your chosen experiences. Remember always, it is what it is
With much love,
